The vocabulary everyone uses and nobody defines.

DSAR. PII. PHI. TCPA. Express written consent. These terms decide what companies owe you and what you owe your customers — and most explanations of them are written by lawyers for lawyers. These are not.

Free, no signup, no gate. Written to be quoted: every guide opens with a direct answer you can lift, and says plainly where the honest answer is "it depends" or "that rule no longer applies."

Why we publish this

PRYVC builds consent infrastructure, so we have an obvious interest in people understanding consent. We would rather that interest be stated than hidden. These guides are not a sales funnel: they describe the law and the practice as they are, including the parts where the honest answer is that a rule was struck down, or that a term means less than it sounds like.

Nothing here is legal advice. Privacy law is fact-specific and moves quickly. Where a guide states a deadline, a damages figure, or a rule's status, check it against current sources before relying on it.
